Dear devotees, Almost 40 years ago on Nrismhadeva Caturdasi 1972, at the age of 23, Srila Hridayananda das Goswami Acharyadeva bowed down at the lotus feet of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, and recited vows to live the rest of his life as a renunciate, a sannyasi, and to dedicate his life’s work towards the service Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai, the development of ISKCON, and the expansion of the Hare Krishna Movement. Over the course of these 40 years, Acharyadeva has distinguished himself as a courageous leader, Sanskrit scholar, writer, commentator, and guru. Thus, in honor of Acharyadeva’s remarkable achievements, it is our great privilege to announce Acharyadeva’s upcoming 40th Anniversary Sannyasa Celebration & Retreat Weekend. Please mark your calendars for the dates of May 11-13, 2012 (Nrsimhadeva Caturdasi weekend) to receive intimate association with Acharyadeva in a peaceful and relaxing setting in the foothills of Southern California. The weekend promises daily darshans with Acharyadeva, precious association with godfamily, enriching morning and evening kirtans, intellectually stimulating classes, first-class prasadam, comfortable accommodations, and more. But before we can book a retreat facility, it is important that we get an approximate count of the number of people who plan on attending. Keep in mind that the retreat will cost approximately $200 per person and devotees will be responsible to arrange their own transportation to and from the retreat center (although we will do the best we can to assist in carpooling arrangements). Acharyadeva also specifically requested that this celebration be open to all, inclusive of all devotees and not limited to his disciples. Therefore, we humbly request your attendance at this historic and landmark occasion in Acharyadeva’s life. If you think that you will be able to join us, kindly RSVP to Jaya Govinda das ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) by February 6th. Once we get a better idea of numbers and have secured a retreat facility, we will send you further information regarding the specific details of the weekend, closest airports to fly into, total cost, carpooling info, service opportunities, etc. We hope this invitation finds you in the best of health and enthusiasm in your devotional service. We greatly look forward to your response. Again, it is urgent that you RSVP with Jaya Govinda by February 6th. Thank you & Hare Krishna! * Queridos devotos, |
